The Cathedral of Granada began its construction in the 16th century as a Gothic-style project, but it evolved until it became a Renaissance temple. It is located in the Plaza de las Pasiegas and Juana La Loca, Felipe El Hermoso and the Catholic Monarchs are buried inside. Today it is the seat of the city’s archdiocese.

The Alhambra in Granada is a city-palace that dates back to the Nasrid period and is located on the so-called Sabika hill, on the banks of the Darro river. At the gates of its walls is the Generalife, a rural town made up of a set of buildings, gardens and patios with water and vegetation as the main protagonists. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984.

Also known as Baños de los Axares, the Arab baths of El Bañuelo date back to the 11th century and have been completely renovated, although preserving original elements. They were a meeting place for the Arabs of the city, who came here to wash themselves and chat. They consisted of three rooms, the cold room, the warm room (which was the central and largest room) and the hot room, where the bathtubs were located. In 1918 they were declared a Site of Cultural Interest. They are located at Carrera del Darro 31 and admission is free.

The Church of Santo Domingo combines Baroque, Renaissance and late Gothic architectural styles. It was founded by the Catholic Monarchs in the 16th century and erected in the Plaza de Santo Domingo as part of the Monasterio de Sta. Cruz de la Real.

Also known as the Monasterio de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, the Monasterio de La Cartuja was built in the early 16th century following the Spanish Baroque style. It is located on the outskirts of Granada, about 2 km from the centre.

The Sacromonte Abbey is located at the top of Mount Valparaíso, on the Camino del Sacromonte, and is part of the architectural complex formed by the 17th century College and a Seminary. Inside it keeps numerous works of art, tapestries and typical clothing of the time.
